Swagger-Styles

Hey, it's been a while because I'm back in school now. Getting ready for finals and what not. But anyway, I came upon these pictures as I was looking through my Facebook.

After looking at these pics, I realize that my friends (at least some of them) are quite fashionable. The 90's retro look, the scarves and shiny jackets, sweaters and such. They really know how to put themselves together.

So, I feel (after reading my beloved GQ magazine) that I should be a male stylist. I mean, i could have put those outfits together. I can really dress a man. I do what GQ does in their fashion section: take a guys look (or the one they want to portray) and improve it with better choices or I can change a guys style totally. GQ should hire me...Oh yes...I can pull it off.

More next week...

Let's Get Some Shoes!!!

So, I feel (my favourite opening statement) that if I'm ever stinkin' rich, I'd be that lady with like 4 closets worth of footwear- two of them devoted to heels. And these are why.

Jessica Simpson Lonna's- $89~~ I can't even begin to tell you what I'd wear these with...

Alexander McQueen-$1,015~~I don't think I'll ever be willing to pay that much for shoes...

Giuseppe Zanotti-$416
Now I could go on and on but I really like the Jessica Simpson ones. I'm not her biggest fan but I love most of the shoes her company puts out. Also, they looks as if they'd match my prospective prom dress.....Sexy..As long as my date is at least 4 to 5 inches taller than me already... =)

Yo! MTV Recreations

So, as I was walking into different kick shops on Fulton today is came across the Creative Recreation Dicoco kicks. They were very cute. I also came across the Puma MTV raps sneakers. I think I've wanted them for a while but never bought them because I've only seen them in stores where everybody goes. I really don't like buying things from places where everybody else buy their stuff from, though it it virtually inevitable.

The Recs
I'd rock these with all black. I just looked them up on Zappos.com and they were $105. The store I saw them in had them for $120. Online shopping is the best by far.

The ones I saw were green and black and white but I can't seem to find those on the internet. Anywho, I would rock these baby's with black skinny jeans, a white shirt and a pink and yellow hoodie. Freshness man.

Style D'Homme

So, I went to Ford today. Fun. I ended up not doing the red and black colour scheme. Instead I went prep style and did a white button-down, black and grey argyle sweater vest, dark skinny jeans and my grey and blue Dunks. But while on the train coming home, I saw a guy with an Artful Dodger jacket on. I love AD's clothes. Quite frankly I would wear the guys stuff. Not to go all lesbo status and what not but I like it. Ibought a pair of Levi's for this guy and I wanted to keep them because they were so comfortable.

I went on Karmaloop and found this outfit. I would rock it well. =)

Little By Little

So, my aunt bought me a pair of boots, heels and a long tweed jacket today..... I can feel my swaggerosity becoming greater. Outfits have been planned. My first one is going to be put on trial tomorrow when I got to visit Ford. Red and Black, my signature colour combo...(yes I spell colour with a 'u' because its sexy) Dark skinny jeans, Red and white shirt, black hoodie, black and white Vandals, red and black scarf and black jacket....Sexy...My nails are painted almost neon green, purple and blue. Talk about different...

MAKE STATEMENTS!!!
BE DIFFERENT!!!
DON'T COPY/ SWAGGERJACK/JOCK/POSE!!!
Werd...I feel like those words are something everyone should follow... I mean, does it feel good to step out your house thinking you look fly but you see that everyone and their step-cousin is wearing what you have on? I don't think so. I used to see these girls on my block wearing these hoodies with hella colours on them and I'd just shake my head because they called themselves the Fashon Starter Sisters or some such BS. They didn't start anything. They wore what everybody else was wearing. I don't know about them or ya'll but I like dressing up and knowing that I'm not wearing what everybody has and I don't look like every other girl that thinks she can dress. I LOOK LIKE ME!!!
V-Lo def looks like V-Lo...No doubt about it...

The New V-Lo

So, I've recently been inspired to renew the old me. As in bring back the old me but make her better. Better style, better poetics, better person -- All original. The timing for the new V-Lo has to be perfect. I think I'm going to pop out here and there with little slivers of creative genius then I will give them the whole package. This is a long time coming. It's just that being up over in school has dulled me. Since I go there in 10th grade I haven't written anything great and Ive stopped caring about my writing and my style. It's as if my mind had a creativity switch and SBS turned it off. Its sad, but as the same with mntal illnessses, once you realizethe probelm you can work to solve it. I like lists so I'm going to list ways I can solve my issues.
1- Find poetry clubs
2- Write and have people critique it
3- Read/ listen to other people poetics
4- Find time to work with City on developing lyrics
5- Keep listening to real rap...The one with actual messages

Style-wise, there is only one solution: Buy whatever I like. Even in my state of not caring I realize that my stlye is different from most of the people I know. I don't follow trends or what's in. My motto: If you like it, buy it. It doesn't matter if the stars are wearing it or if it cost 20 million dollars. all that matters is that you look good. I've always followed that.
